Netball - Overhead pass

Skill learnt - the skill that I learnt was how to pass the ball to a team mate that a high up the pitch that will reach them without being intercepted by the opposition. The coaching point is to put enough power on the pass so it gets to your team mate.

Technique - the technique to use when doing a overhead pass is to spread your fingers across the netball, bend your arms and try to keep your elbows close to your body. When throwing the ball, you should put one foot foward so that you can lean into the pass, aim between your team mates head and chest and then strectch out your arms and fingers when releasing the ball.

Tatic - the tatic for using the overhead pass is so that your team can clear the ball up the pitch when under a bit of pressure and so that you can start a counter attack against your opposition and try and score a point for your team.

Strengths and Weaknesses - my strengths when using the overhead pass was that I was very accurate with my passing to my team mates far up the pitch but my weakness would be that I sometimes got the power on the pass a bit wrong which meant the oppoisition could collect the ball.

Netball - Bounce pass

Skill leant - the skill that I learnt here was how to pass the netball by passing it through the opposition so that I could get it to my team mates without giving the ball away when the opposition are closing in.

Technique - the technique for using the bounce pass is to make sure your fingers are pointing at the floor before you pass the ball and to stand with one foot in front of the other so that you can bend your knees at lot easier when passing the ball. Once you have released the ball from your hands, you should extend both of your arms so you get the right power and direction on the pass.

Tatic - the reason for using this skill is so that you can manuvore out of a tight situation when your opponenets are closing in on you by bouce the ball passed them and too on of my team mates so that I dont lose the ball and give away possesion.

Strengths and Weaknesses - my strengths using the bouce pass was that my passing was very accurate so that it would be easy for my team mate to recieve and catch the ball but my weakness was that I didnt always get the right amount of power on the pass so the opposition could intercept the pass and get the possesion back.

Netball - Pivoting

Skill learnt - The skill that I learnt was to land on one foot and then pivot on that foot so that I could turn and pass the ball into different areas of the pitch. The coaching point would be that you must keep you pivoting foot on the floor once it has landed or else it will be a foul and you will give possesion to the opposition.

Technique - The technique to pivoting is once you have jumped up into the air to catch the ball, land with one foot on the ground and control your balnce before you start pivoting. You should try to keep your upper body as straight as you possible can and make sure your hip on the leg you are pivoting on is pointing in the same direction you throw the ball in.

Tatic - the reason for using this in a match is so that you can change direction when you are attacking which is important because you need width on the pitch to have a better chance of getting passed your opponents.

Strengths and Weaknesses - My strengths were that I could pivot well on my left foot because my balance was good on my stronger foot which meant I could look up for a pass without worrying that I might foul but my weakness was that I was not as good using my right foot because I could not balance as good.

Netball - Shooting

Skill learnt - The skill that I leant was to accurately shoot into a netball net so that I could score as many points as I could. The coaching points for this skill is to keep both of your feet on the ground when you take shot, take your time when taking a shot and to aim before you take your shot because your opponant cant move when you are about to shot.

Technique - The technique for using a shot in netaball is to, keep both of your feet on the ground when taking a shot, bending your arms to get as much elavation on the ball as you can so it reaches the net and to extend your arms at the end of your shot so you get enough power on the shot.

Tatic - The reason for using this skill in a match i to score as many points as you can in a netball match so it is vitally important that you get most of your shots in the net or on target.

Strengths and Weaknesses - My strengths in netball shooting is that I can consistently get the netball on target when shooting at the net but my weakness is that I cant get the right amount of power when shooting so the netball either goes straight over the net or hits the front of the netball rim.

Football - Crossing

Skill learnt - In this exercise, I learnt to cross the ball to my team mates accurately which is important in a football match so that you can switch the play when you are attacking. The coaching points for crossing the ball is to look up in front of you to see if there is a cross to play and if their are in enough space for them to recieve the ball without the ball being intercepted and the other coaching point is to use the inside of your foot to increase the accuacy of the cross to your team mates.

Technique - I practice this skill by crossing the ball to my team mate who was about 40 metres away from me to see if I could accurately pass the ball to him so that it would create a scoring opportunity for my team mate. When I was happy with my accuracy of my passing, I then was crossing the ball with a bit more power so that I could increase my range of crossing abilities which is important in a match.

Tatic - The reason for using this skill in a football match is to create scoring opportunities for your team mates when you are on the wing and it is hard to dribble the ball or pass it to get past the defenders. The other reason is to switch the play in a football match when one side of the pitch is a bit congested.

Strengths and Weaknesses - My stengths when crossing the ball in a football match is that I can cross the ball accurately and with enough power so that my team mate can control the ball and create a scoring opportunity to score a goal. My weakness when crossing the ball is that I am as not as accurate and precise when I use my right foot so I might loose the ball and give it to the opposition.

Football - Heading

Skill learnt - For the heading exercise, we stood about 1 or 2 metres away from one another then your partner would throw it to me and then I had to head it back to him. The coaching point for this exercise was to use the middle of the forehead which would give you the most power and accuracy of the football.

Technique - I pracised this skill by me and my partner standing opposite one another about 2 metres and then we increaed the distance to make the exercise more difficult.

Tatic - You would use heading in a football match when a team mate crosses the ball and it is to high to use your feet, you would use your head to try and score a goal or a defender could use the heading skill to clear a ball.

Strengths and Weaknesses - My stregth in heading the football was that I could head the ball a long distance which is important when you are defending so that you can clear any danger but my weakness was that my headers were not always accurate which meant the ball did not always go to a team mate.
