Football - Crossing

Skill learnt - In this exercise, I learnt to cross the ball to my team mates accurately which is important in a football match so that you can switch the play when you are attacking. The coaching points for crossing the ball is to look up in front of you to see if there is a cross to play and if their are in enough space for them to recieve the ball without the ball being intercepted and the other coaching point is to use the inside of your foot to increase the accuacy of the cross to your team mates.

Technique - I practice this skill by crossing the ball to my team mate who was about 40 metres away from me to see if I could accurately pass the ball to him so that it would create a scoring opportunity for my team mate. When I was happy with my accuracy of my passing, I then was crossing the ball with a bit more power so that I could increase my range of crossing abilities which is important in a match.

Tatic - The reason for using this skill in a football match is to create scoring opportunities for your team mates when you are on the wing and it is hard to dribble the ball or pass it to get past the defenders. The other reason is to switch the play in a football match when one side of the pitch is a bit congested.

Strengths and Weaknesses - My stengths when crossing the ball in a football match is that I can cross the ball accurately and with enough power so that my team mate can control the ball and create a scoring opportunity to score a goal. My weakness when crossing the ball is that I am as not as accurate and precise when I use my right foot so I might loose the ball and give it to the opposition.
